NOTICE: Avoid Scheduling Errors - Review your Day After Thanksgiving Schedule

Thanksgiving falls on the fourth Thursday of November, and the day after Thanksgiving typically falls on the fourth Friday. However, this year November has five Fridays, causing the "Day After Thanksgiving" to land on the fifth Friday of November instead.

If your scheduling is set up with the two separate events
1. Thanksgiving Day: Recurring every 4th Thursday of November.
2. Day After Thanksgiving: Recurring every 4th Friday of November.

This setup will cause scheduling errors this year and you may experience the following call routing issues:
- Closed one Friday too early (i.e. the 4th Friday of the month)
- Open the day after Thanksgiving (the 5th Friday of the month)

Recommended Best Practice

Important: Not all call flows are the same. Please review your specific configurations carefully before making changes to avoid unintended disruptions.

To ensure accurate scheduling, you may want to follow these steps to consolidate and simplify your holiday events:
1. Adjust the "Thanksgiving Day" Event to span 2 days:
- Set the Thanksgiving Day event to start on the 4th Thursday of November and extend the event for two days.
- This ensures both Thanksgiving Day and the Day After Thanksgiving are always covered, regardless of the specific year's calendar structure.

2. Delete the "Day After Thanksgiving" Event. (This eliminates the risk of incorrect Friday closures during years like 2024 with five Fridays in November.)

By consolidating your holiday schedule into a single event spanning two days, you’ll eliminate the risk of calls being open or closed on incorrect days during months that have 5 Fridays.
